Theory ColloquiumΛ
Nemanja Kaloper (UC Davis)
Most of the universe is comprised of the invisible agent which seems to exert antigravity on everything else. A simple fit to this picture is to assume that this strange stuff is a constant source in the equations of General Relativity, called the cosmological constant. Understanding the physics behind this fit is anything but simple, however. We review the cosmological constant problem, formulate it in modern terms, and suggest a mechanism which could help solve it.
