We‘re finally coming out of one of the biggest public health emergencies since a century. But what exactly is public health, and how have catastrophes like the COVID pandemic shaped its development as a field? We‘ll look at a few cases to show where we‘ve been and where we might be going, including with the help of some X-ray light here at DESY.
