Focus of the Diversity Day in 2024: Presentation of the results of the diversity survey at DESY Since November 2023, DESY has undertaken an anonymous and voluntary online survey on diversity and inclusion with the external social science survey institute Rauh Research Management (RRM). The goals of the study werde to obtain more information about the socio-demographic diversity characteristics of DESY's staff as well as their experiences of discrimination and the diversity climate. The survey was divided into two parts: Around 1,400 employees took part in the quantitative online survey and a participation rate of 44.7% was achieved. In the second, qualitative part of the survey, six focus group interviews with specific target groups or topics were organized to discuss the answers in the questionnaires in greater depth using further concrete examples. The presentation of the survey results will take place in the lecture hall on the campus in Hamburg. The Board of Directors will be present at the event to answer questions. We see the event as an important kick-off to a self-critical internal discourse in order to ensure consistently respectful interaction with each other in the future.
