Log files for the TPOL DAQ

This page contains information about log files written by the TPOL DAQ programs.

Whenever something goes wrong with the TPOL DAQ, check the LOG-files and try to understand what happened before restarting.

Permanent log files

There are a few log-files which are not cleared after a DAQ restart. These are:

tpol02.desy.de:/home/pol2000/daq/fec.log written by NETMEX, does not contain information of great relevance...
/home/pol2000/incoming/tpolruns.txt summary of all data runs taken by the TPOL

Temporary log files

Each DAQ program writes its output to a file named program.log. After restarting the DAQ the file is renamed to program.log.old. The previous program.log.old file is lost.
