Andreas R. Maier

Laser Acceleration

Andreas Maier is lead scientist at DESY and works in the field of laser plasma acceleration. His research focuses on the integration of laser plasma accelerators and their high-power drive lasers. Combining both aspects, will be key to mature plasma accelerator technology for future applications. He also conducts research in the field of plasma-based free-electron lasers.

Maier is currently leading the KALDERA project, which aims to achieve laser plasma acceleration at particularly high repetition rates to demonstrate reliable plasma electron beams through the application of active stabilisation.
