The Vacuum Cleaner
A cleaning day without a vacuum cleaner is completely unthinkable today. The name itself already hints to the working principle of this domestic appliance. Inside a vacuum cleaner, a small engine propels a pump that invokes a low pressure, a vacuum so to speak. The
outer air pressure thrusts air through the nozzle whereas small particles are sucked through too and are collected in a dust compartment inside the cleaner. This effect can also be observed if a liquid is sucked up with a straw.
If you want to forgo cleaning chemicals while rinsing your drain, you can use a plumber’s help.
In order to tighten hooks to a wall, suction cups can be very useful, i.e. for towel hooks. Even larger vacuum cups are used to hold devices on a worktop. Another application of vacuum is the vacuum lifting pad which is used to transport glass or stone slab.
