Scintilators

S c i n i l a t o r s are similar to taggers, only that they detect all particles as minimum ionising ones. It is assumed that they are not used for the track reconstruction (if they were, they should obviously be included as tracking detectors!) Hence, neutrals are not seen. Such detectors can also be described analogously to calorimeters, (of the type 'mip only').

Just as the taggers described above, this kind of detector is internally treated as calorimeters by SGV, and the data from them will also be in the shower-part at the particle information common-block. In the analysis code, they can therefore be treated the same way as was described above for the taggers.

This kind of detector can be used to check is a particle when through a certain module of any kind of detector not simulated in detail by SGV, and hence to find it's geometrical acceptance. This can be useful to simulate eg. dedicated particle identification detectors, such as RICH:es, TRD:s or TOF:s.
