In spring 2014 together with Francesco Hautmann and Pierre van Mechelen, we had the idea to organize a discussion session on Transverse Momentum Dependent parton densities. We had in mind to bring together people from the small x  and the low transverse momentum communities to discuss common features. One of the goals of this workshop was and still is to define common tools for calculating cross sections. Already for the first meeting in 2014 we had a first version of TMDlib released. Shortly after that the TMDplotter was released to make it easy to compared different TMDs but also collinear pdfs.

The workshop series is now continuing every year with ca 50 -60 participants.
