DESY home of Yves Kemp

As of October 2011, I am heading the "Systems" group of DESY IT. The IT systems group:

• designs, implements and operates large computing clusters.
• designs, implements and operates virtualization and cloud computing infrastructures.
• provides the installation of Windows and Linux operating systems on DESY desktops and server machines.
• operates underlying services for computer administration and management.
• manages DESY printers and print servers.
• assists other groups in the operation of their infrastructures.

From 1.2.2007 until October 2011, I was part of the Grid Team. I still am a technical coordinator of the National Analysis Facility build at DESY in the context of the Helmholtz Alliance Physics at the Terascale. I was a IT contact person for the ATLAS group at DESY.

Before joining the DESY IT group, I studied physics in Karlsruhe and Grenoble. I graduated at the Institut für Experimentelle Kernphysik in 2006. Besides doing electron identification for single top searches at the Tevatron CDF experiment, I was a Linux system administrator for the institute.
