Measurement of charm production using events with decays into muons with ZEUS at HERA The production of heavy quarks in deep inelastic scattering was measured using events with semileptonic decays into muons with the ZEUS detector at HERA using an integrated luminosity of 120 pb-1. The charm, bottom and background content of the event sample with an identified muon was extracted by exploiting different characteristics of the decays of heavy quarks. Charm cross sections were determined for Q2>20 GeV2 and compared to NLO QCD calculations and to previous measurements based on other techniques.
