Study of tau-pair production with the ZEUS detector at HERA A search for events containing two high-transverse-momentum tau leptons has been performed with the ZEUS detector at HERA, using the data sample collected between 2004 and 2007, corresponding to 0.36 fb-1. At least one of the tau candidates is required to decay hadronically, while the second tau is required to decay either in and electron or in hadrons. The number of observed tau pairs has been compared with the prediction from the Standard Model, where the largest contribution is expected from Bethe-Heitler interactions. Possible deviations from the Standard Model, especially at high invariant masses of the tau pair, have been searched for.
