Theory SeminarIntegrated double-soft subtraction terms for massive emitters in the nested soft-collinear subtraction scheme
Dmytro Melnichenko (LMU Munich)
Higher experimental precision, attainable in the current collider experiments, motivates theoretical calculations to strive towards fully-differential NNLO for increasingly complex processes. The goal of my master thesis is to perform an analytic computation of the contribution from two soft-radiated partons using factorization of the matrix element. Singularities cancel upon including virtual corrections, providing a strong check for the approach, and the finite remainder of this contribution presents a crucial building block when describing collider processes at the fully differential level with the nested soft-collinear subtraction scheme. The computation of required phase-space integrals with non-trivial constraints is to be performed using cutting-edge analytic tools such as integration-by-parts and the method of differential equations.
