   Short description of the project the student should work on  :

	The group operates a large prototype TPC and develop and build
	readout modules. These modules are equipped with Gas Electron Multiplier (GEM)
	foils to amplify the chamber signals. This amplification should be homogeneous
	across the full readout module.
	In a first step the student will take measurements to study the flatness
	of the GEM surface which directly relates to gain homogeneity.
	Following that an analysis has to be developed to understand and interpret
	the acquired data.

   Physics / Computing/ Engineering  Content of the project :
	
	- Working with a measurements tool to scan surface with laser beam
	- Develop an analysis for the data and interpret the results
	80% physics/ 20% Computing

  Special Qualifications expected from the student ( Computing,...) :
 
 	- Some experience with C++ programming
